As the name suggests, South Africa is a country in southern Africa. It has three capital cities, namely:

Pretoria, executive capital.

Bloemfontein, judicial capital.

Cape Town, legislative capital.

顾名思义，南非是非洲南部的国家。它有三个首都，分别为：

比勒陀利亚，行政首都。

布隆方丹，司法首都。

开普敦，立法首都。

The famous city in South Africa is Johannesburg, it is also the largest city in South Africa.

在南非最著名的城市是约翰内斯堡，也是南非最大的城市。

There are 11 official languages in South Africa, they are Afrikaans, English, IsiNdebele, IsiXhosa, IsiZulu, Sepedi, Sesotho, Setswana, SiSwati, Tshivenda, Xitsonga.

南非有11个官方语言，分别是南非荷兰语，英语，IsiNdebele, IsiXhosa, IsiZulu, Sepedi, Sesotho, Setswana, SiSwati, Tshivenda, Xitsonga.

The national anthem of South Africa is “Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrica” and it means God Bless Africa.

南非的国歌是Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrica，意思是上帝保佑非洲。

The national flag of South Africa has six colors, the horizontal “Y” signifies the convergence of the various Elements of South African society, who are united on the road to the future.

南非国旗有六个颜色，水平的“Y”代表着南非社会各方面要素的融合，这些要素在通往未来的道路上是统一的。

South Africa borders Swaziland and Mozambique to the North East, Botswana and Zimbabwe to the North, Namibia to the Northwest, and Lesotho which is completely landlocked by South Africa.

南非东北部与斯威士兰和莫桑比克接壤，北部接博茨瓦纳和津巴布韦，西北部与纳米比亚交界，而它环抱莱索托。

South Africa is renowned for its varied topography, great natural beauty, and cultural diversity, these makes the country a favorite destination for travelers.

South Africa’s coastlines border the Indian Ocean to the southeast and the Atlantic Ocean to the southwest.

The National Animal of South Africa is Springbok, and King Protea is the National flower. Its National tree is Yellowwood tree while its National bird is Blue Crane. Its National fish is Galjoen which is only found along the South African coast.

南非的国家动物是跳羚，帝王花是国花。它的国树是黄杨，国鸟是蓝鹤。它的国鱼是Galjoen，这种鱼只分布于南非海岸。

Economy 经济:

South Africa has an abundant supply of natural resources, well developed financial, legal, communications, energy, and transport sectors; and a stock exchange that is the largest in Africa, it is also among the top 20 in the world.

南非拥有丰富的自然资源供应、发达的金融、法律、通信、能源和运输部门；南非是非洲最大的证券交易所，也是世界前20强之一。

Agriculture is also a major contributor to the economy, the majority of agricultural products are Corn, wheat, sugarcane, fruits, vegetables, beef, poultry, mutton, wool, dairy products.

农业也是经济的主要贡献者，主要农产品有玉米、小麦、甘蔗、水果、蔬菜、牛肉、家禽、羊肉、羊毛、乳制品。

Industries include mining (South Africa is the world’s largest producer of platinum, gold, andchromium), automobile assembly, metalworking, machinery, textiles, iron and steel, chemicals, fertilizer, foodstuff, commercial ship repair.

工业包括采矿（南非是世界上最大的铂、金和铬生产国）、汽车装配、金属加工、机械、纺织品、钢铁、化工、化肥、食品、商业船舶修理。

China is the major trading partner of South Africa, it imported about 9.5% of the total of South Africa’s exports in 2017.

中国是南非的主要贸易伙伴，2017年进口量约占南非出口总额的9.5%。

Major exports from South Africa are gold, diamonds, platinum, other metals and minerals, machinery and equipment.

南非的主要出口商品是黄金、钻石、铂、其他金属和矿物、机械和设备。

South Africa’s tourism industry is also a major contributor to its economy. South Africa has a number of World Heritage sites, four of them are cultural sites.

The Fossil Hominid Sites 原始人化石遗址

Scientist and historians believe that this is the cradle of mankind, some of the human fossils found here date back to 3.3 million years old.

Believed to be about 2 billion years old, this crater is acclaimed for being the oldest, deepest and most eroded astrobleme on earth.

The uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park

Also known as the Drakensberg Park, it is in KwaZulu-Natal, and a wonderland of basalt, sandstone, grasslands that lies at high altitudes, river valleys and rocky gorges.

South Africa also has a rich and varied mammal life with more than 200 species, including the big five. There are more than 800 species of birds and many species of reptiles, including more than 100 varieties of snakes and an extraordinarily diverse population of insects.

It has more than a dozen national parks, the largest of which is Kruger National Park in Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces. Kruger National Park is noted for its populations of rhinoceroses, elephants, and buffalo.

Other notable national parks include:

Mountain Zebra National Park in Eastern Cape province.

Addo Elephant National Park is also in Eastern Cape province.

Bontebok National Park in Western Cape, this one contains the endangered bontebok (a type of antelope).

Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park in Kwa Zulu-Natal, which was inscribed as a World Heritage site in 1999.

Great Limpopo Trans Frontier Park, which links Kruger National Park with Mozambique’s Limpopo National Park and Zimbabwe’s Gonarezhou National Park.

其他著名的国家公园包括：

The Springboks

Sports and recreation

South Africa’s rugby team, the Springboks, won the Rugby World Cup in 1995 and 2007. Its national football team, nicknamed “Bafana Bafana” which means “The boys” in the Zulu language, won the 1996 African Cup of Nations, and South Africa hosted the 2010 World Cup, the first time that an African country has been selected to do so.
